With the weekend fast approaching I’m sure lots of us will be looking forward to spending some time away from our PC’s but how much time do we actually spend away from technology these days? Especially as it is always evolving.
It’s got to the point now where you won’t find one person who doesn’t have their smartphone to hand or even in the hand most of the time.
People seem to talk more through texting and Facebook messenger than they do in person and even when they do they’re out taking pictures and checking in for all of their friends on social media.
In fact, I recently discovered that the average time spent using digital devices including smartphones, iPads and Laptops has gone up an additional 150 hours since 2015. That’s a shocking figure right?!
Let me elaborate on that for you.
An average user spends 4 hours and 58 minutes a day on their digital devices compared to 4 hours and 33 minutes in 2015. That’s not even considering people who work in front of a computer all day. Needless to say we’re like little robots!
When breaking this down I found that the majority of that time spent was using smartphones. I mean, who could blame anyone. The amount a phone can actually do for you now is ridiculous when you think back to the standard Nokia.
The fact of the matter is, technology just keeps getting better and better and no one can get enough of it. Who knows what the future holds..
